When "Jesus Walks" dropped, it was wholly new and creative, managing to be intense, inventive, and accessible all at once. When he came on the scene with The College Dropout, it was nothing like what hip-hop had seen before, coming at a time when (mostly) everything was hard and gang-oriented, with hard and intense beats. ![]() In the scope of rap and modern hip-hop, definitely Kanye.
